Vancouver Police say is was the driver killed in this morning's collision on the Georgia Vaiduct, but they are not releasing the name of the 22 year old man from Burnaby as his next of kin are still being notified.
Police say the three passengers in that vehicle remain in hospital in serious or critical condition -- all are between 20 and 24 years old.
It happened about 3:00 a.m.
A car travelling east failed to make the slight curve in the road, it hopped the curve and collided with a pole and a tree.
Four men were inside -- one died, the other three are in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Constable Brian Montague says it's not known yet if the car was street racing.
"Those are things that we are going to look into. Speed is definitely a factor, but we will look at a number of other factors. We do have witnesses that we are speaking to right now that observed this collision, but we won't be able to determine those factors until we speak with everybody involved."
The viaducts are still open, but commuters will have to use the entrance and exit ramps at Main Street.
