The search continues for a suspect in the beating death of a woman in Surrey who lived what police are calling a high risk lifestyle.
Janice Shore, a 45-year-old mother of three, was attacked in early December and died this week in hospital.
Investigators say she wasn't homeless, but she did frequent local shelters and she may have been working as a prostitute.
Police do not believe the general public is at risk.
Even so, they are not calling this attack targeted.
IHIT Corporal Bari Emam read a statement on behalf of Shore's family.
"We remember Janice's childhood as normal as any of our childhoods. We never thought she would die under such horrible circumstances. Janice battled with mental health issues most of her life, however she did not deserve to die in such a way."
