After taking a break last week, contract talks have resumed between the BC Teachers Federation and the BC Public School Employers Association.
Speaking for the BCTF executive, Glen Hansman says talks are steadily progressing, behind closed doors and not in the media, "So far, so good. It's been calm. We are really happy with the framework that we worked out with BCPSEA. It shows what you can do when Government isn't interfering."
Hansman says the two sides will trade first proposals next month as the bargaining deal dictates, "Yeah, that will be happening soon, in the next couple weeks. It might not be the actual date specified in there, things got delayed a little bit because of the timing that BCPSEA chose but it will be happening soon."
He says the goal is to get a deal done by June, but adds they will see how it plays out.
