If you like to stroll the White Rock Pier, there will be some days this spring you won't be able to.
Maintenance work is being done.
Greg St. Louis is with the city, and says some piles are being replaced.
The work will take up to forty-five days, likely starting in April and finishing by the Victoria Day long weekend.
"I know what we're going to do to we're going to work with the contractor, try to keep the pier open as much as possible, because as you said, people do come to White Rock and they always want to come down to the pier as I do on the weekend, so some of the work may be able to be done and keep the pier open, however the pile driving for sure will need the closure of the pier."
St. Louis says a grant is paying for half of the work.
The budget for the project is about 450-thousand dollars.
