The pressure continues to build on Christy Clark as hundreds of registered BC Liberals from the Indo-Canadian community are calling for the premier's resignation today.

Vikram Bajwa is a registered BC Liberal, and he says at meetings today in five temples in the Lower Mainland, hundreds of Indo-Canadians have agreed to call for Clark's resignation in the wake of the leaked Liberal plan to woo ethnic voters and even use government resources to do so.

"The ethnic vote issue is going out of hand and somebody needs to come forward and take the responsibility."

Bajwa says those at today's meetings are also calling for the scrapping of the Times of India Awards.

He says the $11 million award show is irrelevant to the BC economy, is of no cultural value, and won't help Indian immigrants adapt.

But the BC Liberal candidate for Surrey-Fleetwood says Bajwa might have alternative motives.

Peter Fassbender says Bajwa attempted to replace Sukh Dhaliwal when he pulled out of the running for Panorama-Ridge, but was spurned.

"I suspect anyone who isn't accepted as a candidate may feel like they've been slighted."

Fassbender also questioned whether Bajwa has his numbers right when he says 500 registered BC Liberals are calling for Clark's resignation.
