One of the Liberal MLA's who has been among those unhappy with the way the party is going will not be in todays caucus meeting or at tomorrow's budget vote.

Kash Heed says he has family matters to deal with this week and won't be in Victoria even though his party faces a confidence vote tomorrow.

The second reading of the budget, a confidence matter, will be voted on Tuesday and without Heed the Liberals now hold only a four seat edge over the NDP and independents.

"Well certainly the whip was aware I was not going to be there so if they have made their arrangements to have sufficient numbers there for the vote you know that is his job but he did know I was not going to be in attendance in Victoria this week."

Heed was asked if he would have voted for or against the budget.

"I am not going to say because I am not there but where that goes I will leave it up to the voters on May the 14th to figure that out."

Heed says his opinion of various matters is quite clear and he doesn't need to be in caucus to air them to the Premier and party.
