A skier has been taken to hospital, but is expected to be okay, after an avalanche swept down on a group of backcountry skiers outside Whistler this morning.
It happened at 11:20 this morning on Spearman Glacier, and about a half dozen skiers were caught in the slide.
RCMP say the one skier was buried in the snow for an estimated four minutes, and passed out, but was awake again by the time help arrived.
The others were not hurt and were equipped for the conditions.
They're being taken to safety.
