North Vancouver mounties are looking for the driver of a grey, four door Mazda that was involved in a crash with a jaywalking pedestrian at 23rd and Lonsdale last evening.
Corporal Richard de Jong says the driver didn't stop, but it's possible he wasn't aware of the collision.
"There was no braking, there was nothing that gave us the idea the person may have been aware of it, so again that's why we want to speak to the driver and see exactly what did happen."
The 16-year old girl has some scrapes and a broken tooth, but is otherwise okay.
De Jong adds the incident should serve as reminder to pedestrians not to jaywalk.
He says in this case, there was an overhead walkway a short distance away.
