The return of the PST is just days away but you're still more likely to see a commercial about the Liberal's job's plan than how the new tax will affect you.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation's BC Director Jordan Bateman says the government spent a paltry few hundred thousand dollars on communicating to consumers how returning to the PST will affect them, but millions promoting their budget and jobs plan.
"Frankly spending 21 million dollars on jobs and budget ads was a goofy idea meant to do nothing except help the BC Liberals get re-elected, that's money that would be spent on other things, PST education included."
Bateman says PST is going to have an significant impact.
"I think for most people obviously the PST is going to have a whole lot more impact on their lives and certainly on their voting decisions than on the jobs plan or the budget."
However he says the province though has done a good job letting businesses know what they need to do before PST kicks in.
