Three pitch and putt courses in Vancouver will be closed this winter if the Vancouver Park Board approves some recommendations coming before it at tomorrow night's meeting.
Board Vice-Chair, Aaron Jasper says it's all in an effort to cut costs, "We're losing about $200,000 a year from the pitch and putt golf courses, primarily in the winter time and nobody's using the pitch and putt golf courses in the winter."
The three courses are Stanley park, Queen Elizabeth, and Rupert Park.
Staff are recommending the courses not be staffed between November and March.
Golfers could play for free, weather permitting.
Staff estimate the $200,000 loss would be reduced by more than $100,000.
