A man in is hospital after falling off a crabbing boat near the Musqueam Reserve.
Matt Thirkell is a coast guard officer with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.
He says they received a call just before 9:00 on Saturday night.
Thirkell says the other people on the boat were able to pull the drowning man from the water.
They then took him to the boat ramp at the Musqueam Reserve.
Thirkell says they sent a hovercraft to the boat ramp to pick him up.
“They took the victim on board and commenced first aid and CPR. The hovercraft transported the victim back to the coast guard base.”
Thirkell says once they arrived there, an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital.
The victim’s condition has not been released.
