The NDP and the Liberals are battling over whether there is, or is not, a deal in place with Paragon Gaming over a new casino project near BC Place.
NDP candidate for Vancouver West End, Spencer Chandra-Herbert, says Liberal candidate and Pavco Chair Peter Fassbender said last week there was a deal – a 99 year deal.
"My question to Christy Clark and the Liberal party is when are they going to apologize for claiming there was a 99 year deal at BC Place with Paragon casinos, when in fact none exists."
Peter Fassbender responded saying his quote last week was taken out of context and there is no deal in place with paragon.
"The official release from the staff at PAVCO was that they are still in discussions but no decisions have been made."
Fassbender adds if and when there is a deal for a new casino project, the City of Vancouver will have the final word.
