It appears we have a standoff between the media consortium and the BC Liberals over their use of footage from last week’s televised leaders debate.
The media consortium, which organized the debate, had issued a 4 p.m. deadline for the party to take down an attack ad aimed at NDP Leader Adrian Dix.
It uses debate footage, which the consortium and political parties verbally agreed would not be used in political advertising.
The Liberals say in an email they will not take the ad down, saying they feel they have good legal standing to keep it on the air.
The media consortium's Les Staff says since Global BC is ultimately holds the copyright, the matter has been passed to them.
