West Vancouver police have a warning: If you put the pedal to the metal on the Sea to Sky this long weekend, they will catch you.
Cpl. Jeff Palmer says they're working with the RCMP and the Air One helicopter starting tomorrow to nab those who put others at risk racing up the highway.
And what happens if you get caught?
“Your car goes away for a seven-day impound, the tickets – if you're more than 40 km/hr over the speed limit -- you can be looking at fines of $360 on up.”
Palmer says criminal charges are also possible.
He adds it’s not like the Dukes of Hazzard – you can't get away by driving from one jurisdiction to another, because the different forces work together.
