A meeting was held Saturday on the City of Vancouver's latest bike lane proposal -- this one is for the Point Grey area.

More than 100 people attended the meeting at Bayview Elementary School.

The city's transportation director, Jerry Dobrovolny says after reviewing the public's concerns from a meeting back in February, the city has come up with some designs to help reduce motorist volume along Cornwall Avenue and Point Grey Road.

"The highest level is to provide improved walking and cycling from Burrard Bridge to Jericho.  We actually have two routes, one is a more recreational route that goes north along the water to the park, the other is more of a commuter route, it starts at York, one block south of Cornwall, and if you go further west, it goes on to Point Grey Road, all the way to Jericho. "

If the public agrees, recommendations will go before council in July and construction could begin late this year.
