The Mayor of Vancouver says the commitment made by the federal government on funding for infrastructure is a good start, but not enough.
"But cities and communities across the country wanted more, we need to have more on the table to address the infrastructure deficit that we've built up over many years."
Gregor Robertson says a big transit investment is needed, as well as a big housing investment.
Speaking at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Denis Lebel touted the Conservatives' 10 year plan for infrastructure.
The plan includes 32.2 billion dollars from an indexed gas tax fund and an increased GST rebate for municipalities to construct roads, recreational facilities, and other infrastructure.
