Surrey RCMP say a 50 year-old man is in custody after he tried to steal a car from a dealership.
Police say it happened around 6:00 Saturday evening when a man stole a vehicle from the Applewood Kia dealership on Fraser Highway.
"A very short time later the vehicle was driven back onto the dealership lot. The driver then revved the engine and drove off of the lot, driving over a 1.3 metre drop, landing in the parking lot of a restaurant, striking a parked vehicle and coming to a stop," says Staff Sergeant Murray Hedderson.
Hedderson says the driver tried to flee on foot, but was apprehended by staff and held until police arrived.
No one was hurt.
