BC Ferries actually made some money last year, but the figures released in the company's year end fiscal report may be a bit deceiving.
The company says it recorded a profit of 15.5 million dollars in fiscal 2013, compared to a nine million dollar loss in 2012.
That's despite another drop in ridership.
Vehicle and passenger traffic were both about one per-cent lower than the previous year.
But the provincial government increased its financial contribution to the company by 25 million dollars, while also launching a review that has recommended service cuts to reduce expenses.
