One person has been taken to hospital after it appears a van exploded at a Port Moody McDonalds.
"Sounded like a big train hitting a wall or something."
Nick Tannen says he and other employees at the Yamaha car dealership saw the blast happen around 1:45 p.m. across the street at the intersection of St. Johns and Williams.
"So, of course, we all walk up there and have a look at it, and here's this van with the roof completely, all the front windows blown out, the back door was open."
He says a witness told him a girl had been in the van when it exploded.
A spokeswoman from the BC Ambulance Service says one person has been taken from the McDonalds in serious condition.
Police say they are looking to possible unsafe fuel storage as a cause for the explosion.
