If you like to grab a bite to eat while out on the street, Surrey could soon be another place for you.
That city plans to look into bringing in food carts after the success of a smaller-scale program rolled out in April.
Coun. Linda Hepner says the plan is to approve a working group on Monday, and a key will be making sure Surrey streamlines the process.
"I think Toronto had a fairly regulatory process that we certainly wouldn't want to see. What we learned is that laissez-faire approach that Calgary and Portland put in place seems to be the most successful."
Hepner says while deregulated systems seem to be the most successful, maintaining health and safety standards will be important.
