A lawyer with Pivot Legal society plans to start filing claims as soon as possible against the City of Abbotsford after staff dumped chicken manure on a downtown homeless camp.
DJ Larkin says she has agreed to represent about 10 people to sue the city and file human rights complaints.
She says the homeless situation is in crisis.
“One of the founding members of Pivot Legal, Ann Livingston, came to us a while ago and said, 'You gotta go out to Abbotsford, it's worse than the Downtown Eastside in terms of human rights abuses, you gotta do something.' and we're there, and we've seen it, and it's bad."
The chicken manure incident made headlines last month, prompting a public apology from Mayor Bruce Banman.
