The Emergency Room at Surrey Memorial Hospital will remain closed for at least several days after a water main burst earlier today during excavation work.
As well, Fraser Health's Tasleem Juma says over 100 surgeries have been postponed with only one of eight operating rooms open.
"We don't want the public to feel alarmed or concerned we are still able to provide the support and service they need whether it's at the Jim Pattison outpatient facility nearby or other hospitals across the region."
Juma says damage to x-ray and other equipment is still being assessed.
