No crimes were committed, after a 51-year-old man died last month in the custody of Vancouver police.
The latest from BC's Independent Investigations office.
A 51-year-old was reported to be causing a disturbance at a park in False creek.
Officers arrived and offered to take him home after determining he wouldn't be arrested or put into detox.
But the man was unconscious when they got to his home, and died in hospital.
IIO director Richard Rosenthal says he's cleared the officers of any crimes, after he reviewed his staff report.
"At this point, this report will be provided to the Vancouver Police Department and the Police Complaint Commissioner so that they can evaluate the case from the policy perspective. But at least from the criminal perspective, the case is concluded."
This is the first report to be made public by the civilian-led office that oversees incidents of serious harm or death involving police in BC.
