The people in charge of Metro Vancouver's public transit system have spent more than $100-thousand this year in vehicle allowances and expenses.
Translink's 10 executives billed the transit authority nearly $110-thousand for things like parking, gas, vehicle maintenance and insurance between January 1st and September 30th of the current year.

Bob Paddon -- Translink's Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Public Affairs -- rings in on top, at just under $16-thousand spent in the first 9 months of the year.
"As executives, working for this organization, we spend a lot of time on the road. We've got to get to meetings, evening meetings, weekend meetings and to-and-fro."
But Paddon adds changes to the car allowance program were made in April.
"As a result of a review that was conducted in 2011 on overall executive compensation, we made a change in our car allowance program -- now we just receive a monthly, flat fee and we cover all of our expenses through that."
The monthly fee is $950.
