The first annual Snowflake Walk is under way in Port Coquitlam.
Hundreds of Lower Mainland residents are participating in the anti-bullying event, among them Lesley Penner.
"We've got grandchildren, boys and girls, and we want it to be a little bit safer out there for them. And I think there's also a lot of bullying at schools, elementary schools especially, and that's why we're here."
The walk gets its name from Amanda Todd, who killed herself in a high-profile suicide following intense online bullying.
Princess Snowflake was the nickname given to Amanda by her mother.
