The Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association has scrapped plans to hold rotating strikes this week after the Government tabled a proposal this weekend.
The union says the Government has offered a 1.4% wage increase over two years, with some health workers experiencing rollbacks.
In a release, Health Science Association of BC President Reid Johnson says the offer is a lowball proposal intended to provoke job action -- which in turn could lead to lawmakers imposing a contract.
So, the union is easing off strike action this week as it consults with its members.
The Government says job action last week led to the cancellation of 3,000 procedures.
