A Transit police Sergeant is under investigation after an incident in a New Westminster bar.
Transit police spokesperson Anne Drennan says the alleged bar fight happened September 12th while the Sergeant was on paid medical leave funded by his union.
Drennan says New Westminster police are heading up the investigation.
"Following the incident the Independent Investigation Office and the OPCC were both contacted and New West police assumed the investigation. The investigation is on going with no charges having been laid yet."
Right now the Sergeant's on a three month leave without pay dealing with a family issue out of the country.
"The member wanted to go back to Ireland to deal with a serious family medical issue and was granted a leave of absense for three months without pay subject to his compliance with any aspect of the ongoing investgation."
Transit police are tight lipped about the investigation and are not releasing any further information.
