The Tsawwassen First Nations band will have a "do over" of its general election early in the New Year after a judicial council upheld two appeals.
Former chief Kim Baird, who lost by nine votes to new chief Bryce Williams in the September election, answers the big question:
"Yeah, I do plan on running again."
Baird says the election result has been a shadow in the community.
"So the fact that we have this process, this council in place and processes in place for appeals, I am happy that its apparently working. This was particularily sensative topic and it will be good for our community to move forward based on this decision."
Baird says one of the appeals was launched because an election flyer advertised the wrong election date.
She says turn out was low.
Chief Bryce Williams says overturning the result is all part of the process and he will run a similar campaign as he did last time.
"Just going door to door and speaking with the people and just run on the same grounds with the same platform basically. I am going to be working reviving....reviving and strengthening our culture....and uh...along with working with the youth and everything like that uh...yes."
The band has until January eleventh next year to call a new election
