A BC Green Party candidate says he planned on keeping mum about the NDP suggesting he step aside in the next provincial election, until attacks on him started yesterday.
Andrew Weaver says his private conversations with the NDP's Michael Byers would have stayed private if the NDP didn't start smearing him on Twitter yesterday.
"That is my main beef is that if the NDP are going to run a positive campaign - do it, show it and make sure you have people within elements of your party actually reflect that too - you can't say it and not do it.
Weaver says that Byers offered him many potential ways he could still serve the province through working for the NDP if he stepped down from running for the Green Party.
Byers says he's involved with the federal politics, and not even authorized to offer Weaver a position in an NDP provincial cabinet.
