A temporary worker from China hired to work in a northern BC coal mine has filed a human rights complaint against the United Steelworkers of America.
The union's Steve Hunt says the complaint comes as no surprise.
"I guess it was expected. When all else fails, you know, attack, I guess. That's what they are doing. They have failed in court, they have failed in the court of public opinion. They have lost their cheerleaders in the provincial government, Christy Clark and Pat Bell, and now the Federal government is saying this whole peoject has been messed up from the start"
The worker alleges the union's leaflets and website are offensive to Chinese people.
The company expects the claim to be thrown out.
