An Alberta man updated his iPhone and lost all his text messages. Now, to get a copy of his messages, he's taking Telus before the BC Supreme Court.
Sean Hall with Telus says the case is not out of the ordinary. Anyone who wants to get a copy of their text messages has to petition the Court, "We have a responsibility to protect the privacy of third parties, and we're not in a position to turn over information about a third party; private information, without a Court order."
In the Writ, the Alberta man claims his text messages contain important information about how assets between him and his estranged wife would be divided, and what would happen to the couple's children.
