North Shore Search and Rescue located two skiers Saturday who lost their way in the Mount Seymour backcountry.
Rescue Team Leader Tim Jones says given avalanche warnings are high in the region, people need to be sensible.
"The backcountry is very dangerous right now for avalanche hazards. It's going to get even worse in the coming days. Simply being on the alpine trail in these areas of the backcountry isn't good enough as a safety measure. It's what's above you, or people who are above you, that could release an avalanche on you."
The skiers had avalanche training but made a wrong turn.
