The search is back on for a 33-year-old snowboarder who went missing Sunday after he boarded out of bounds on the west side of the cypress ski hill in West Vancouver.
Tim Jones of the Northshore search-and-rescue team says there is some urgency to find him in the creek drainages today.
"We also have a looming challenge right now of an avalanche hazard that is going to develop and progress into the day with higher winds and precipitation tomorrow forecast to be high avalanche hazard above and below tree line so we're really motivated today to find him and we just have to keep really positive on the whole thing."
His team is being helped today by two helicopters, an avalanche dog, and the cypress ski patrol.
