City of Vancouver staff had their hands full last night as they tried to get major thoroughfares clear of snow for the morning commute.
Street Operations Manager Murray Wightman says the city is deployed 20 to 25 trucks to remove the snow, "Any of the road intersections, you take an area like Broadway and Cambie or something, where you have catch basins, you've got a high pedestrian volume. We're going to try and keep that free so people aren't stepping through a lot of water, and again, cars aren't hitting it and possibly losing control."
Wightman also says Park Board staff are busy clearing fallen trees and branches at various locations throughout the city.
