Vancouver Council's being urged to lower the cost of a business license.
Remi Caudron runs Salmon N' Bannock Bistro on Broadway and says the cost of a business license has more than doubled for him in the last couple of years going from just over four hundred dollars to over nine hundred.
He says enough is enough and he wants council to do something about it before small business owners like him have to close up shop.
"People on the street that live and shop and hire locally need to be surveyed and included in the decision making."
He also says the cost of rent in Vancouver is getting out of reach for most.
"We sign up to move and grow and get bigger but the rent there is twenty-seven-thousand dollars and it's just insane."
Caudron's written a letter to council but so far hasn't heard anything.
