Police have confirmed at least two of the four murders recorded in Surrey recently were gang-related.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the latest victim was a 29-year old man gunned down early this morning.
"The victim has been identified as Manjinder Hairan and I can also tell you that there was a separate individual that was at that location that was injured as well and he is at hospital. We won't be identifying who that victim is or speaking to you in depth about that."
Pound says, while that shooting was gang-related, Sunday night's killing of two 33-year old men, John McGiveron and Geordie Carlow, was not.
"Those two individuals were known to police. However, there's no evidence so far to suggest this was related to gangs in any way."
Those men were shot at a parkade by someone who sped off in a green SUV, which was later recovered
"About eight blocks away from the crime scene because a member of the public called in to police. We have not identified a suspect."
The other murder believed to be gang-related was the shooting of 27-year old Manjot Dhillon, who was killed early Sunday evening.
