The pricey tab to renovate BC Place Stadium is about to get a going over by BC's Auditor General.
NDP Tourism Critic Spencer Chandra-Herbert says he has recieved a letter from Auditor General John Doyle after asking his office to launch an audit into BC Place costs.
"They are going to do a fact finding exercise look at the budgets, look at those kinds of things, and then based on what they find they may do an even fuller investigation. I think that is good news I think taxpayers deserve more information than the Liberals will give it is well past time that this project, especially a project that looks like it went five times over budget, gets the scrutiny."
Chandra-Herbert says Doyle did not provide a timeline for when he will launch the fact finding mission or how long it would take.
The province says the stadium came in under budget at 514-million dollars but the NDP says the cost estimate in 2008 was just 100-million.
