A crew member who survived the sinking of the Queen of the North ferry in March of 2006 wrapped up her testimony today at the trial of Karl Lilgert, by confirming BC Ferries executives told her not to talk about what happened.
Lynn Cloutier, who hasn't worked for the government-funded corporation since the tragedy that killed two passengers, says she was assured all the people on board were safe before she followed the Captain's orders to abandon ship.
She says she heard head counts of 101 total being accounted for, but she doesn't remember seeing any other crew members doing a final search.
Cloutier says she was later greeted by BC Ferries executives who told her not to talk to anyone about what happened to the ship.
Former navigational officer Karl Lilgert is charged with criminal negligence causing the deaths of Gerald Foisy and Shirley Rosette.
Yesterday, Cloutier described how she narrowly escaped because she'd been trapped until she found the strength to move a large steel clothing locker blocking the exit as water filled her sleeping quarters.
