It's a meeting of the minds in Surrey today as officials gather to discuss the city's present and future.
Today marks the first 'Community Summit' in Surrey.
The event has mayor Dianne Watts meeting with community leaders, urban planning experts, and the public.
She says it is important to hear from those who live in Surrey.
"Good understanding as to where the residents want to go or how they want their communities planned and so there is a lot of good dialogue going on now but we just want to strengthen it."
The event runs until 4:00 p.m. at the SFU campus in Surrey.
