A young man who survived a shooting in Burnaby overnight is not helping police find his attacker.
The 23-year old victim, who has a criminal record, suffered non-life-threatening wounds to his legs.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Major john buis says the shooting wasn't random, but he can't say if it was gang-related.
"Well, we're not sure. We're not getting the information. It doesn't appear to be anything that was going on around the local area. It had to do directly with that group of people and we're still at the early stages of the investigation."
Buis says up to ten men were gathered when the gunfire broke out on the patio of a restaurant at Edmonds near 4th Street.
He says the witnesses haven't been cooperating either.
