A 39 year old man who is known to police is facing charges of assault and uttering threats after an alleged assault on Skytrain earlier this week.
Darryl Keith Bergey has been arrested after what transit police are calling an "unprovoked assault" on a 74 year old woman on Monday afternoon.
Transit Police spokesperson Anne Drennan says the woman got on the Skytrain at Surrey Central Station.
Bergey allegedly became enraged after the woman's purse brushed against his leg.
"He raised his arm, clenched his fists toward the victim, was swearing at her, yelling and threatening to break her neck. He then spat on her head, continuing to swear at her and telling her to move."
The woman got off the train with another passenger who had taken a picture of the suspect, they then reported him.
