They're hoping BC's government, elected next month, will take some action.
Sit-ins have begun in Vancouver, Victoria, and Nanaimo, aimed at bringing attention to the changes made last year to Grant's Law.
The sit-ins have been organized by a group called the "Employee Action and Rights Network," and the BC Federation Of Labour.
Chair of Earn, Stephen Von Sychowski says the sit-ins are all at Macs' Convenience stores.
"Mac's was basically the company that spearheaded the lobby to have Grant's law changed."
Under changes to Grant's Law implemented last year, employers don't have to have two people on a night shift, or have a barrier installed.
They can have video surveillance instead and a panic button, among other things.
The law stems from the death of 24 year old Grant Depatie who was killed in a gas and dash in Maple Ridge, in 2005.
