A judicial review into the granting of 201 temporary foreign worker permits to HD Mining is over.
The judge in the case is expected to issue a ruling within a few weeks.
Charles Gordon is one of the lawyers who represented two unions challenging the granting of those permits.
"We were able to take the court through what we say are the problems with the LMOs that allow the temporary foreign workers to come into the country are, and we felt we got a nice opportunity to make our points."
The unions claim there were many Canadians qualified for jobs at a coal mine near Tumbler Ridge and say Canadians should have first crack at available work.
