A pharmaceutical company has recalled more birth control pills as a precautionary measure after discovering some packages have the wrong dosage.
As a safety measure, Apotex inc., the company that produces Alysena-28, has recalled more cases of its product.
This after it did an initial recall on Monday.
According to Health Canada, some Alysena-28 birth control pills were found to have two weeks of placebo pills instead of the standard one week.
The birth control needs three weeks of active pills and one week of placebos to be effective.
At this time, Health Canada is also looking into the Alysena-21 variety.
This three week birth control with no placebos is made in the same faciltiy, but not part of the recall.
Health canada is encouraging Canadians to ensure their packages of Alysena-21 contain three rows of pink pills.
