It's been a little over 1 year since workers at a Chilliwack mill were locked out.
An anniversary barbeque was held at Gillwood Remanufacturing yesterday.
Brian Harder with the United Steelworkers says the employees have been locked out since last spring.
"We were about 90% through the collective agreement with the previous owners, had no issues on money, no issues on benefits, and we just, really were just tweaking the collective agreement, and then it got sold."
Harder claims the new owners, Gillwood, put everything on the table, and wanted to cut wages and benefits.
Harder says he's hopeful there is a light at the end of the tunnel as a meeting is planned with the employer for later this month.
