A former TV reporter is set to make his case before the BC Court of Appeal Monday.
Ron Bencze pleaded guilty last summer and was later sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting a young boy.
Crown Counsel had argued the former Global TV reporter should spend three years behind bars.
But the judge went above and beyond, calling the abuse that went on for seven and a half years a "major sex offence."
He gave him four years.
Bencze is now appealing that punishment.
He argues it falls outside the acceptable range for such a sentence, and that a psychologist testified he was not a pedophile and unlikely to reoffend.
