People packed into SFU Thursday night to get answers on the future of BC transportation from a member of each major party running in the BC election.

Questions were about Translink governance, ferries and one person asking if millions being spent on Skytrain fare gates is worth it. That got a decisive 'no' from the Green Party's Jane Sterk.   BC Conservative Duane Nickall says he's baffled by it when you look the state of BC schools, "We have cracked asbestos insulation that's directly exposed to teachers and the cost to fix that is less than one million dollars. I just can't for the life of me see why the turnstiles would be more important."

Transportation Minister Mary Polak says it will be worth it in the long run while Harry Bains with the NDP says he hopes we can recoup some of the costs.

The odd comment of the night goes to Polak who called the Port Mann Bridge the largest cycling infrastructure  project in the province.
