With bombs in Boston and ricin sent to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC this week, a Vancouver-based expert on the US-Canada Border says prepare for increased vigiliance when heading south.
Joshua Labove says while we won't see huge changes at the border, we should be prepared for increased questioning and a greater presence of Border Services workers, considering what American security forces are dealing with, We are in a situation, I think, of perpetual panic and it's only reasonable, knowing how the U-S operated, that that panic will manifest itself quite clearly at border sites."
Labove says events like the Boston bombing certainly puts a strain on an already strained American border service operation. He is reminiding travelers to stay patient and polite to make crossing the border as smooth as possible.
