Surrey is gearing up for what's considered the largest Vaisakhi celebration outside of India, to kick off this morning.
Vaisakhi is a holy day on the Sikh calendar.
And in surrey, it means a massive parade, live music, free food and lots and lots of joyful people -- organizers expect about 200-thousand.
RCMP Sgt. Drew Grainger advises people to be aware of road closures for the parade route, between 128th to 124th Streets and 82nd and 76th Avenues.
"We have a very good, well-structured plan in place for any contingency that we might encounter, even in light of recent events that have happened around the world."
He also urges parents to keep an eye on their children.
Police had more than 60 cases of missings kids at the Vaisakhi parade last year.
