Long-awaited testimony at the trial resulting from the fatal sinking of a BC Ferry seven years ago has finally been given.
Karl Lilgert has repeatedly denied he was distracted by 'personal business' minutes before the Queen of the North ran aground in March of 2006.
Prosecutor Mike Huot wrapped up nearly three days worth of cross-examination suggesting the former navigational officer was either having sex or arguing with his former lover, and that's why he was neglecting his duties.
Lilgert doesn't deny he had sex with quartermaster Karen Briker on the ship during their longterm extra-marital affair, but he denies they were having sex or arguing that night.
The 59 year old accused of criminal negligence causing death has now wrapped up his testimony.
